To tackle this, Serco partnered with IBM partner DecisionBrain, which used IBM Decision Optimization (a capability available in IBM Cloud Pak for Data) to analyze customer data and usage patterns.

DecisionBrain implemented IBM Decision Optimization to calculate the optimal number of bikes at each station and to plan efficient routes for maintenance teams, resulting in reduced company costs and a more efficient bike‑sharing service across London; this project highlights how IBM Cloud Pak for Data’s integrated decision‑optimization and analytics capabilities can centralize development and accelerate time‑to‑value.
