Onatera (originally MaboutiqueOnaturel, founded in 2011 and renamed in 2017) is a distributor of natural and organic wellness products with a catalog of over 8,000 items from 300 brands. The company’s ambition to make natural products accessible and be recognized as a leading expert collided with a strong customer need for tailored advice—shoppers found it hard to choose among thousands of references, especially during evenings and weekends when most queries arrive.
To solve this, Onatera launched ibbü in August 2018: a network of independent experts (students, pharmacy professionals and naturopaths) available via instant messaging alongside five in-house agents and four professional product experts. The program delivered clear results—34% of visitors purchased after an ibbü conversation, 97% reported satisfaction, and revenue increased fivefold when experts were available—while strengthening Onatera’s expert image and capacity to handle seasonal peaks.
