Meliá Hotels International, the Palma de Mallorca–based hospitality group with 380 hotels in 43 countries, faced a digital disruption as travelers shifted booking and inspiration to review sites and social media. In six months followers grew 15% (5M→6M) with Instagram up 67%; social-driven website visits rose (to 16% in Europe), mobile sales jumped 491% (€33.8M), employee advocacy generated 142M impressions, and the group ranked among the top 10 most influential IBEX 35 companies on social media.
