Founded in 2012 by Justin and Simone Douglas in Adelaide, Social Media AOK set out to fill Australia’s widening gap in social media agencies by offering education, training, management and strategy to help businesses grow online. The core challenge was building credibility and scalable services in a fast-changing social landscape while continually educating clients and staying ahead of industry trends.

To meet that challenge they partnered with Hootsuite—enrolling in Hootsuite University, joining the Ambassador program, and using Hootlet, Suggested Content, Streams and Scheduler to source, share and monitor content and campaigns. That strategy helped them acquire their first 20 clients via social, grow 2,500+ followers in two years, generate 15% of 2013 revenue from social leads, and earn a 2014 Telstra Australian Business Awards startup nomination.
