A Hootsuite Case Study
Cystic Fibrosis Canada is a national not‑for‑profit that funds research and supports high‑quality clinical care for Canada’s most common fatal genetic disease, which affects about 1 in every 3,600 children. Because CF makes in‑person contact risky, patients and families face severe isolation and need channels for emotional support, advocacy, and coordinated fundraising across six regional offices and 50 volunteer chapters.
The organization uses social media—coordinated through Hootsuite—to unite regional teams, chapters, advocates and influencers, schedule and monitor communications, and streamline campaign materials and sponsorships. That approach freed staff to focus on outreach and advocacy and helped campaigns like 65for65Roses exceed their $65,000 goal, raising over $75,000; success is measured by funds raised and the volume of sponsor and public engagement. Social channels now both drive fundraising and create vital peer support when meeting in person isn’t possible.
