When the Sacramento Kings changed ownership in May 2013 the franchise experienced a rebirth and wanted to capitalize on renewed fan excitement by driving record-breaking ticket sales. The challenge was to harness that momentum across a highly competitive sales organization, increase visibility and recognition for reps spread across the building, and improve the accuracy of sales data in Salesforce.
The Kings implemented Hoopla overnight to display goals and live leaderboards on Hoopla TV, run contests, and celebrate wins with gongs, photos and custom action music. The quick rollout boosted excitement and accountability, gave executives real-time visibility into sales activity, allowed drill-down metrics and customization for priority KPIs, and improved Salesforce data entry—creating a stronger reward-on-success culture even before measurable sales lift was calculated.
