The North American Spine Society Improved Online Communications For The Field Of Spine Care

The North American Spine Society (NASS) is a global, multidisciplinary medical society dedicated to advancing ethical, evidence-based spine care. Facing geographic, technological and cultural barriers to collaboration, NASS needed a cohesive, cross-platform way for committees and members to engage online, increase global participation and maintain a consistent brand and user experience.

NASS launched SpineConnect on Higher Logic, integrated with its Protech AMS for single sign‑on, profile syncing and streamlined data flow. The responsive, award-winning community went live in September 2014 and, within six months, drove strong engagement: 3,000 members logged in, 711 discussion posts, 189 threads and 258 unique authors. Case discussions have become a valuable clinical Q&A forum, member data now feeds the CRM for proactive outreach, and NASS plans to expand with specialty groups, a specialist directory and mentorship programs.
