Streamline Information-Sharing with Social Technology

The American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA) is the professional, scientific and credentialing association for 173,070 audiologists, speech‑language pathologists, scientists, support personnel and students, with a 258‑person staff based primarily in Rockville, MD. ASHA’s members relied on fragmented LISTSERVs and multiple discussion forums, which created redundant conversations, missed connections and limited visibility into member expertise; the association needed a single, AMS‑integrated community that would consolidate interactions and surface member profiles.

ASHA implemented Higher Logic’s cloud‑based community platform with prebuilt integration to its netFORUM Enterprise AMS, enabling a unified discussion site, member directory and mobile access with minimal IT effort. Since launch in late 2011 the community has seen over 78,000 members sign in, 53,000 discussion posts, 74,000 content contributions, roughly 791,000 site visits and 4.4 million page views; ASHA retired legacy tools, launched CLARC and a mobile site, and generated targeted non‑dues revenue from advertisers.
