The North Carolina Dental Society (NCDS), one of the country's oldest dental societies representing more than 3,900 member dentists, needed to revamp its engagement strategy to attract and retain younger members as long-time members retired. Member feedback showed a clear desire for a place to connect, and the COVID-19 crisis made having a timely, reliable forum for peer support even more urgent.
NCDS, led by Systems Manager Ryan Couch, launched a members-only online community called NC Dental Connect as an exclusive benefit to drive value and urgency for membership. The community became a pandemic hub for peer Q&A, resource sharing, and networking, helping NCDS increase new member acquisition by 200% in one summer and generate 20x more engagement during the pandemic.
