National Association of School Nurses - Customer Case Study

The National Association of School Nurses (NASN), which serves more than 16,000 members and 50 affiliates, needed a more efficient way to grow memberships and renewals. Staff were doing manual segmentation and outreach, which was time-consuming and made personalized targeting — like distinguishing lapsed members, former members, and brand-new prospects — difficult to execute and track.

Using Higher Logic’s automation rules, NASN automated segmented email campaigns to nonmembers, engaged users, and lapsed members. The targeted approach saved staff time, increased revenue, and delivered strong results: a 32% conversion for an immediate rejoin message to lapsed members, 7.8% from logged-in nonmembers, 14% and 10% on other targeted campaigns, and a 6.7% conversion from a broader outreach of 20,604 recipients.
