Massachusetts Society of CPA’s Online Community is Members’ #1 Benefit

The Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) is the state’s leading professional organization with over 11,000 members across public accounting, industry, government, and education. Historically member interaction was limited to events, committees, and emails, leaving sole and small practitioners isolated and engagement relatively low.

To address this, MSCPA partnered with Higher Logic and launched a private online community, The Hub, in June 2016. The platform spurred organic engagement—798 threads, 2,458 posts, 493 contributors and 41% of members logging in at least once—became cited as the “#1 member benefit,” enabled advocacy wins with the Department of Revenue, and generated $12,000–$14,000 annually in advertising revenue through weekly e-newsletters and digests.
