KidsGardening Advances Their Mission With Online Community

KidsGardening is a nonprofit that helps educators and caregivers teach children to garden through grants, contests, curriculum and activities. With a 45,000-member email list and social channels, the organization found communication was largely one-way, leaving members without peer connections, regional support, or a year‑round place to share ideas—especially given their small, seven-person staff.

They launched a Higher Logic online community—forums, events, and resource sharing—with Salesforce integration to centralize member interactions and data. Since launch engagement and member feedback have increased, and the team can now use profile demographics and experience-level data to target communications, strengthen fundraising, refine curriculum and grants, and better advance their mission.
