The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA) — a 15,000‑member professional association — needed an enterprise solution to improve member satisfaction and retention by enabling meaningful online interaction. Its website offered resources and events but not member-to-member networking; public social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) generated followers but made monitoring, engagement measurement and participant verification difficult.
NJSCPA implemented Higher Logic’s private online community integrated with its Aptify AMS (single sign‑on and automated profile syncing), launching Connect to facilitate collaboration. Within two months 1,700+ members were active, the community averages 3,700 monthly unique visitors and 13,000 discussion posts, and the Society can now track engagement and member lifetime value, award activity-based points, deliver targeted communications, pursue banner ad revenue, and improve member retention.
