Upgrading Oracle WebCenter Sites for General Electric (GE) Capital

GE Capital, the financial services unit of General Electric, needed to consolidate two separate Oracle WebCenter Sites application stacks that were running different versions for different business initiatives. HGS Digital was brought in to analyze the environments, identify the exact upgrade path and risks, and validate historical findings and assumptions.

HGS Digital conducted discovery sessions and upgraded GE Capital’s Dev, QA, DR, and Production environments from JBoss 4.2.2 to Tomcat 6.0.32, while also updating two applications to work with the new platform. HGS Digital also led a Developer Tools Integration Workshop, helping GE Capital align its WebCenter Sites environments and improve the stability and consistency of its CMS stack.
