Case Study: US-based photovoltaic manufacturer achieves standardized MES and optimized throughput with Hexaware

A Hexaware Case Study

Preview of the US Based Manufacturing Company Case Study

Enhancement of custom build .NET MES Shop Floor Application

US Based Manufacturing Company, a global leader in photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing, faced the challenge of enhancing its legacy .NET MES shop-floor applications to better support shop-floor functions and harmonize a complex landscape that included 11 major MES client applications, 20 MES services and 35 automated barcode scanners. Hexaware was engaged to provide systems integration, development and program management services to modernize and streamline these systems.

Hexaware migrated legacy WCF/SOAP services to RESTful Web APIs, redesigned the MES into harmonized Single Page web clients with a discovery site for service routing, and enhanced shop-floor capabilities (sub ID creation, labeling, tracking/tracing, inventory, scrap handling, data collection, reporting and label printing). Hexaware’s solution standardized the MES landscape, significantly improved system performance and throughput, and helped maximize equipment usage while enabling future continuous improvement initiatives.
