Data Migration Solution Transforms a Leading Airline’s MRO Operations

Leading Automotive Financial Service Provider faced a complex data-migration challenge when consolidating multiple legacy systems (DB2, IMS/DB, MS Access and SQL Server) into a newer MRO/management environment: inconsistent and unsynchronized data, a mid‑migration upgrade to the target MRO system, and part numbers exceeding the new 25‑character limit. Hexaware was engaged to deliver a Data Migration and Data Warehouse (DWH) solution to analyze the landscape, define KPIs, and design the migration approach.

Hexaware implemented a two‑stage staging strategy (as‑is and cleaned staging), designed universal X‑File-based storage and the DWH, migrated 10 years of historical data, and assigned internal part numbers (storing originals in reference fields) to handle oversized part IDs. The effort included rigorous integration, performance and reconciliation testing and DWH UAT support; as a result Hexaware delivered clean data into the target application, a single version of the facts via the DWH, and increased efficiency of data provided to the MIS team.
