Case Study: Bilfinger SE achieves centralized IT automation and major resource savings with HEAT Software

Bilfinger SE Client Management Ensures Efficient Use of Resources

Bilfinger SE, a global services and construction group based in Mannheim, expanded rapidly through acquisitions to hundreds of subsidiaries, creating a fragmented, manually managed software landscape. This decentralized approach caused frequent on-site service requests, slow rollouts and inconsistent configurations, driving the need to centralize and automate client and server management.

Bilfinger implemented HEAT Client Management (DSM) to standardize deployments with golden images, automated cloning, selective patching and drag-and-drop scripting for zero-touch activation. The result was major time and cost savings—fewer on-site visits, consistent pilot-tested installs, two staff managing ~100 servers and 6,000 clients (with plans to scale to 35,000 clients and 2,500 servers), purchase of 31,000 additional licenses, and faster, more reliable rollouts (including pre-loaded hardware).
