U.S. Based Integrated Logistics Provider - Customer Case Study

The customer, a U.S.-based integrated logistics provider, sought to consolidate its freight forwarding systems into a single global platform with a uniform user interface. This was needed to promote business agility, support new mid-market clients, and maintain the mainframe-like multitasking capabilities its workflows required. They engaged vendor HCL for a solution that included enterprise architecture, integration services, and UXD design and development.

HCL implemented a human-centric UI using Angular.js, jQuery, and HTML5. The solution provided a rich, interactive interface with features like drag-and-drop support and complex data visualization, enabling efficient management of shipments and container assignments. The new system successfully delivered mainframe-like usability in a web environment and was architected for future responsive capabilities. This allowed for parallel client and server-side development, significantly improving operational agility for the logistics provider.
