One of the world's largest financial services organizations faced fragmented operations across six geographies with duplicate legacy banking applications, needing a common web‑services layer, middleware to process operational requests, service segregation, ESB‑based decoupling, and robust error handling. HCL was engaged to design and deliver a SOA‑based middleware/ESB solution, leveraging TIBCO technologies and a web‑services provisioning approach.

HCL implemented a centralized SOA platform with TIBCO ActiveMatrix/iProcess/BusinessWorks/EMS and MQ, building a receiver component and 400+ services and deploying TIBCO‑based handlers rated at 1,200 transactions per second. The result was a single centrally maintained application set, lower operating cost, and a highly scalable, extensible integration platform ready to support new event‑publishing/subscribing systems.
