One of the highly rated auto Mutual Insurers of US faced a legacy claims management environment (Solcom) with hundreds of document types and inefficient workflows. They engaged HCL to replace Solcom with an enterprise-wide content management solution, selecting OnBase to improve image storage, retrieval, workflow automation and overall claims processing.
HCL implemented OnBase under its Document Management and Imaging (DMI) program, migrating over 35 million images via digital image processing, narrowing document types (General Claims from 150+ to 12; Workers’ Compensation from 500+ to 60), digitizing mail, replicating existing workflows and exporting annotations, and integrating with Claim Center. The deployment by HCL cut conversion costs as volume grew, reduced downtime from hardware failures, and streamlined claims operations with measurable efficiencies.
