A HCL Case Study
Client, one of the auto Mutual Insurers in the US, needed to modernize claims processing and document management: replace the legacy SolCom medical-records scanning environment, consolidate interfaces, migrate image storage from optical platters to Centera, enforce retention policies, and deploy a single enterprise-wide content management solution. They engaged HCL to migrate and convert existing images and workflows to OnBase.
HCL implemented OnBase under its Document Management and Imaging (DMI) program, exporting annotations, replicating workflows (such as Workers Compensation bills), capturing Claim Center integration points, and moving over 35 million images via digital image processing to OnBase/Centera. The HCL solution reduced document types (General Claims from 150+ to 12; Workers Compensation from 500+ to 60), digitized claims mail management, lowered conversion costs as volumes grew, and minimized outages and downtime due to hardware failures.
