HCL worked with a public utilities client that serves nearly 6.8 million Michigan residents and needed to streamline quality across critical business applications. The client engaged HCL to set up a Testing Center of Excellence for functional, automation and regression testing to shorten delivery timelines, reduce delivery costs, improve service quality, gain visibility into test and environment coverage/risks, and formalize end‑to‑end testing processes.

HCL implemented IPs, frameworks and accelerators—most notably the HCL Asset™ Transition Methodology—using a 40 FTE team, a Core Flexi Fungible resourcing model and a risk‑based testing approach to deliver release‑based support and end‑to‑end/regression testing across web, Lotus Notes, desktop and SAP applications. The engagement produced standardized test processes and a common repository, complete test case documentation and Lean Test Plans, rapid UAT validation with minimal defects, a flexible regression resource pool and approximately USD 150K in measurable savings.
