Largest Airline Carrier Modernizes Supply Chain With HCL Mobility Solutions

Largest airline carrier in the US was managing roughly $1 billion in supplies across a complex global supply chain and struggled with manual, error-prone warehouse processes: stock clerks relied on handwritten logs and hundreds of daily manual transactions, lacked mobility, and faced delays restoring aircraft to service. HCL delivered a mobile transformation and scanning solution (HCL Mobility Solutions) using a custom Android/HTML5 app with NetWeaver Gateway to address these challenges.

HCL implemented a mobile scanning application that gives stock clerks realtime mobile access to inventory and enables receiving, issuing, and tracking parts on tablets and scanners. As a result, thousands of transactions per day are now completed on mobile scanners with significantly improved data accuracy, faster picking of priority AOG parts, reduced maintenance-related delays and cancellations, and a faster, lower-risk launch tied to HCL’s SAP and supply chain expertise.
