HCL Transformed Web Content Management For A Global German Telecom Service Provider

The Global German Telecom Service Provider, a Tier‑1 European communications operator serving customers across about 14 countries, faced a need to rapidly develop and deploy business‑critical web and mobile projects, integrate multiple third‑party systems, scale web applications for future requirements, and deliver a consistent customer experience. HCL was engaged to provide Web Content Management (WCM) expertise and an integration framework to accelerate development and reduce dependence on incumbent systems.

HCL implemented an offshore development center, reusable components and solutions frameworks, WebSphere‑based application development, catalog data migration and redesigned customer‑facing modules to improve UX and enable self‑service. The HCL solution delivered consistent content and UI across devices, improved customer engagement via Social CRM, drove operator costs down, and produced measurable gains — including 1,000 additional new customers per day from a product reinvention and a Corporate Order Management Portal targeting USD 1.5 million in annual cost savings.
