A HCL Case Study
The customer, a Malaysian oil and gas firm wholly owned by the Government and ranked among the Fortune Global 500, needed to standardize diverse project types, enforce governance checks, reduce high manual effort in tracking demands and issues, and provide real‑time visibility and stakeholder communication. HCL was engaged (Application Support & Maintenance, MS EPM 2010 — PMO Setup) to address these gaps for ~1,500 users across Malaysia.
HCL implemented a blended iterative solution: configuring 18 processes with clear owners, role‑based dashboards for project health/risk/finance/delivery, resource categories and permissions, additional PMO/finance/upstream/downstream views, and integrations with My Timex and SAP. The 6+ month engagement delivered consolidated, real‑time reports and UAT support; outcomes included clear ownership and accountability, micro‑level capture of delays and cost overruns, resource leveling to reduce overload, faster reporting and reduced manual overhead—improving process speed and stakeholder visibility.
