The client, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the USA, was struggling with rapidly growing new‑subscriber and historical data and needed an agile platform to generate actionable customer insight for better targeting and acquisition. Their Teradata-based Enterprise Data Warehouse could not scale or process unstructured and semi-structured sources (clickstream, social) fast enough, so they engaged HCL to modernize their analytics platform.

HCL implemented a next‑gen Integrated Data Warehouse combining a Hadoop data lake with the existing Teradata EDW, a Denodo semantic layer for data virtualization, HCL’s DMF for high‑velocity real‑time ingestion, reusable transformation libraries, and sandbox environments for advanced analytics.
