HCL Helps A Leading Retailer Improve Its Supply Chain Performance

HCL worked with the world’s leading home furnishings retailer (Forbes #45, USD 37.4B turnover, 25+ distribution centers and 1,200 suppliers) to address critical supply‑chain challenges. The retailer’s make‑to‑stock model suffered from poor visibility into the purchase‑order lifecycle, multiple disconnected planning/execution systems, and resulting stock‑outs, overstock, cancellations and manual order fixes. HCL deployed a supply‑chain improvement program focused on order synchronization, automatic order reconciliation and a business‑aligned near‑real‑time dashboard to stabilize planning and execution.

HCL’s team implemented short‑, mid‑ and long‑term fixes—automatic order reconciliation, order‑quality checks and thresholds, and a network‑wide operational dashboard—giving planners near‑real‑time visibility and governance across order planning and execution. As a result, HCL enabled improved order completeness and faster order acceptance timelines, reduced order quality issues through regular rules‑based reconciliation, and shifted the retailer from compartmentalized systems to a functionally aligned supply‑planning view.
