One of the top 5 global life & annuity insurers and financial services providers in Europe engaged HCL to accelerate its Solvency II adoption and to streamline delivery of financial and risk data into the regulator-facing internal model. The customer’s objectives were to shorten a slow 3–5 week source-to-model throughput, create a single NL finance data source, and improve data quality and metadata management; HCL proposed a home‑grown enterprise data warehouse approach using an Informatica ETL framework, Oracle as the database and a metadata manager for profiling and consistency.

HCL implemented the AeMcS program: a scalable Informatica-based ETL framework, an Oracle data warehouse and a metadata manager to provide a single source of truth, traceability and governed metadata. The solution cut delivery from source to the Solvency II internal model from 3–5 weeks to 24 hours, saved the effort of 3–4 FTE, improved data definitions, maintainability and compliance, and supported the customer’s award-winning Solvency II readiness.
