A HCL Case Study
The customer, an advanced memory manufacturer, faced fragmented weekly demand planning across sales, marketing and demand teams, with inconsistent processes, no forecasting metrics and disconnected planning/reporting tools. To address these challenges they engaged HCL to implement an end-to-end SAP solution using SAP APO (Demand Planning) and SAP ECC (ERP).
HCL implemented APO DP integrated with APO SNP and GATP, creating a weekly FGPN-level demand plan (6‑month horizon) and a consensus long‑term forecast for S&OP, enabling forecasting by product attributes and prioritized demand. As a result, HCL’s solution increased forecast accuracy, improved visibility and alignment of demand and supply, integrated demand into GATP for better customer commitment, reduced planning cycle times, improved data integrity across planning and execution, and lowered systems operating costs.
