Case Study: Albert Heijn achieves a 60% reduction in Time-to-Hire with Harver

A Harver Case Study

Preview of the Albert Heijn Case Study

Building an award winning preselection process for trainees

Albert Heijn, a multinational grocery chain with over 1,000 stores in four countries, needed a faster, smarter way to select candidates for its Graduate Program—14 slots across eight roles—while handling roughly 500–750 applications in a short window with only one recruiter. To replace a labor-intensive, paper-based preselection process that drove Time to Hire to about five months, Albert Heijn chose Harver to automate preselection and deliver a digital assessment experience.

Harver implemented a digital candidate journey featuring a virtual host and situational judgment tests that capture candidates’ competencies and cultural fit, enabling data-driven shortlisting. The Harver assessment funnel cut Time to Hire from five to two months (a 60% reduction), delivered an 87% positive candidate experience rating, and let Albert Heijn efficiently process ~626 applicants with far less recruiter workload.
