American Crafts, a Lindon, UT–based maker of paper and craft products selling under ten brands to major and independent retailers, faced a growing pain: managing over 4,000 active SKUs with an unwieldy multi-page order booklet. The paper process made order-taking slow and error-prone at trade shows and store appointments, required manual data entry across multiple booths, and limited reps’ ability to sell efficiently.
Implementing Handshake consolidated all brands into a mobile digital catalog that syncs orders to the ERP, supports Bluetooth scanning, and gives reps real-time sales reports and customer order history. The new system cut appointment times in half, increased reps’ capacity to see and upsell customers, and replaced photocopied confirmations with emailed order summaries.
