A Handshake Corporation Case Study
The Little Bit Foundation is a St. Louis–based non-profit that provides clothing, school supplies, meals and screenings to children across 29 local schools. Rapid growth exposed limits of their paper-based ordering: volunteers filled forms that were re-keyed into a database, creating errors, costly manual data entry and an inability to scale despite available funding.
Little Bit adopted Handshake Rep—a mobile ordering app that integrated with QuickBooks (and later NetSuite)—so volunteers could place and sync orders from smartphones and tablets. The switch eliminated much manual work, reduced errors, enabled scalable back-office integration, and helped Little Bit serve over 9,000 students and distribute more than 500,000 items while using reporting to demonstrate outcomes and attract more funding.
