Moody’s Analytics, a subsidiary of Moody’s Corporation focused on economic research and financial modeling, needed a better way to compete for early-career tech talent. Recruiting was made harder by tight offer timelines, a crowded candidate market, a high volume of similar resumes from campus events, and the fact that the Moody’s brand carries less weight with students than it does in finance.
They adopted a structured, year‑round approach: targeted campus visits, HackerRank coding pre‑screens to quickly filter resumes, and on‑site “Super Day” interviews that build on assessment results. Using assessment visibility to inform interview feedback, plus engagement tactics like buddy programs and care packages, improved screening efficiency, produced clearer hiring decisions, and increased conversion of interns and finalists into hires.
