Garmin aimed to raise awareness for its vívosmart® 3 smart activity tracker and needed a mobile-first ad experience that complemented the product’s stylish, unobtrusive design. To reach potential consumers on premium mobile sites without disrupting the user experience, Garmin partnered with GumGum.
GumGum activated its patented mobile ad units, In-Image Frame and In-Screen Frame, aligning vívosmart® 3 with contextually relevant sports, lifestyle and fashion content on publishers like Sports Illustrated, Men’s Journal and InStyle. The campaign drove 1.1M unobtrusive ad impressions with zero user interruptions, achieved a 3.2% CTR (about 40× the 0.08% rich-media benchmark) and 72.7% engagement (≈36× the 2.0% benchmark).
