SBI Insurance is a Japan-based internet non-life insurer founded in January 2008 and jointly owned by SBI Holdings, Aioi Insurance, and SOFTBANK. Seeking to expand new, high-quality web-based insurance services while keeping operations compact and cost-effective, the company needed a flexible, scalable core system to handle rating, underwriting, policy administration, billing, and claims.

SBI implemented Guidewire InsuranceSuite (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter) as the first domestic P/C deployment of the platform, selecting it after careful evaluation of alternatives. The new system enabled SBI to launch its service offering, improve competitiveness and agility, and operate with superior quality and cost-efficiency while moving toward self-sufficient system operation.
