Merastar Insurance Company provides employer-sponsored personal property and casualty coverage in the United States, offering payroll-deduction ease for employee groups. Faced with a cumbersome green-screen legacy claims system and a need for a complete, rapidly deployable claims solution, Merastar sought to modernize claims handling for its 40 adjusters and minimize time-to-benefit.

Merastar implemented Guidewire ClaimCenter in a nine-month, on-time, on-budget project, migrating to a real-time, web-based claims platform. The new system improved access to claim information, increased payout accuracy, shortened closure times, and gave managers and stakeholders up-to-the-minute visibility; the implementation included complex integrations and thorough knowledge transfer and has been in production since August 2005.
