CURE Auto Insurance Enters New State in Record Time

CURE Auto Insurance, a Princeton-based personal auto insurer founded in 1990, wanted to expand beyond New Jersey and Pennsylvania into Michigan ahead of pending no-fault legislation. The company was constrained by an out-of-date, inflexible legacy system and needed a cloud-based, secure, and cost-efficient platform that could support rapid market entry, scalability across states, and better customer and operational experiences.

CURE implemented Guidewire InsuranceNow (AWS-based, API-first, with InsuranceNow GO prepackaged capabilities) and integrated third-party services like LexisNexis and a payments vendor. The focused Michigan-first launch was completed in a record six months and 10% under budget, producing ~7,700 quotes and 900 policies in the first two weeks, stable performance during traffic spikes and power outages, easier maintenance with smaller teams, and real-time analytics for operations and executives.
