American Airlines - Customer Case Study

American Airlines faced a sprawling, global fleet and a web of partner contracts that were managed with inflexible systems, manual spreadsheets and disparate bank portals, creating control gaps, duplicative work and operational risk. To centralize and modernize treasury and fleet data, American Airlines selected GTreasury, leveraging GTreasury’s Collateral Management System along with its cash management, forecasting, bank account, debt, letter‑of‑credit, investments and FX risk capabilities.

GTreasury built a user‑configurable, centralized fleet database and treasury platform that eliminated offline components, automated reconciliations and improved visibility into assets and debt. The implementation raised global cash visibility from about 65% to 99%, increased automated treasury accounting from ~50% to 90%, freed up to 20% of staff hours, reduced errors and operational risk, and enabled better financing and investment decisions — all delivered through GTreasury’s solution.
