Case Study: Lenovo achieves better supply chain visibility and control with GT Nexus

A GT Nexus Case Study

Preview of the Lenovo Case Study

Lenovo reworks its use of logistics providers and technology to better compete in ferocious personal computing market

Lenovo, a fast-growing PC and electronics maker, was facing “the perfect storm” of supply chain pressure: rising demand, tight lead times, major acquisitions, and fierce competition. The company needed better speed, lower costs, stronger control, and more flexibility in its North American logistics operations, and it had been using GT Nexus as a visibility tool.

GT Nexus helped Lenovo centralize shipment data from carriers and freight forwarders, connect it to ERP, and build early-warning dashboards for transit, customs, and delivery performance. With GT Nexus, Lenovo improved milestone accuracy, tightened customer commitments, and gained visibility that helped it avoid disruptions during the West Coast port congestion crisis; Lenovo also reported it was about 40 to 50 percent of the way toward fully leveraging GT Nexus.
