How Greenhouse is helping Auto Trader improve candidate diversity for better business outcomes

Auto Trader, the UK’s largest automotive platform with 1,200 employees and more than 77 million cross-platform visits a month, needed to modernize recruiting while preserving its heritage brand. Head of Resourcing Hannah Yates found their previous ATS and manual processes made it hard to run structured, evidence-based hiring and to access DE&I data, limiting their ability to promote diverse and inclusive hiring across automotive and tech roles.

By adopting Greenhouse’s structured hiring and inclusion features—scorecards, single-source reporting, and built-in demographic tools—Auto Trader streamlined data collection, reduced bias, and made DE&I insights easy to act on. The results include a 10% rise in women hires and an 8% rise in hires who identify as people of color in FY24, candidate experience scores up from 72% to 88%, about 90% candidate response to equal-opportunity questions, and faster, more personalized hiring practices.
