New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) needed a better way to reach students and families about financial aid programs, deadlines, and events. Its existing text messaging process was clunky, and email alone wasn’t engaging enough for its tech-savvy audience. HESC turned to Granicus and its govDelivery communications platform to improve targeted outreach.

Using Granicus’ govDelivery, HESC segmented audiences by grade level and role, then delivered personalized text and email campaigns to students, parents, and counselors. The results included more than 2.3 million bulletins delivered to over 644,000 recipients across 30 topics, and in 2023 over 160,000 text messages sent with nearly a 70% combined engagement rate. HESC also saw increased event attendance and website visits, showing that Granicus helped make its messaging more timely and effective.
