A Granicus Case Study
Saint Charles County, Missouri, was struggling to manage a growing archive of land and vital records using an aging, custom-built “jukebox” system and other stopgap solutions that couldn’t scale with population growth. The Recorder of Deeds sought a long-term, more efficient way to store, search and serve decades of records while reducing staff workload and exposure to data loss.
The county implemented Granicus (Land and Vitals, eAccept, ROAM), which provided public online search and payment, web-based license applications, and cloud-based storage. The system not only streamlined processing and citizen access but also enabled full recovery after a 2011 network failure—allowing the county to manage decades of records easily, cut processing time, and improve service.
