A Granicus Case Study
Volusia County, Florida, needed a better way to handle growing regulatory demands, scattered paper files, and disconnected department systems that were slowing customer service. Before adopting Granicus’s Amanda, the county relied heavily on manual processes, email, and paper-based data exchanges, making it difficult for residents and businesses to get timely service.
Granicus implemented Amanda to help Volusia County redesign workflows, standardize folders across departments, and manage most regulatory functions in one enterprise system. As a result, residents can now submit many requests online, data is shared more easily across departments, and the county processes 10–12K building permits annually while adding 30–35K folders to Amanda records each year. The county also reduced civil engineering plan filings from 16 to 1 and expects to recoup its original Amanda investment in 18–24 months.
