How Oregon DOT Used Technology to Achieve Its Communication Goals

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) needed a more efficient, digital way to communicate across its many divisions after relying on inconsistent email groups and fax-based workflows. ODOT turned to Granicus and its integrated communications solution, govDelivery, to improve customer service, tell the agency’s story, and better reach residents and partners.

With Granicus’ govDelivery, ODOT streamlined messaging, used A/B testing to refine communications, and expanded outreach for programs like Real ID and emergency alerts via SMS. The results included more than 223,000 subscribers in 2022, a 149% increase since 2018, a nearly 64% engagement rate, and 40,000+ Real ID sign-ups, while recruitment messages also saw higher opens and clicks.
