How Cabarrus County Schools Expanded Their Digital Engagement Beyond Social Media

Cabarrus County Schools needed to broaden community engagement for a long-range school realignment plan beyond the limits of social media. While social channels helped share student life and answer basic questions, they weren’t effective for reaching residents concerned about district-wide issues like taxes, property values and economic impacts.

Using EngagementHQ, the district launched Engagewithccs.com — a centralized informational hub with an updatable timeline, moderated conversations and tools to track participant data. The site drove immediate, sustained interest: 13,500+ visitors, 157 registrations, 350 contributions to surveys or Q&As, and ~200 overnight applications to a focus group — and gained traction with school board members as a transparent municipal platform for community dialogue.
