Purgatory Resort, a growing mountain destination in southwest Colorado, faced an influx of development that made manual short-term rental (STR) tracking and revenue collection impractical. The resort needed a scalable way to identify STRs, enforce regulations and recoup fees to support community services.

Partnering with Granicus to implement the Host Compliance platform, Purgatory automated STR identification and enforcement, identifying 600 STRs and supporting 1,200 homeowners. The program achieved a 99% compliance rate and collected $320,000 in fees, which were reinvested into local programs and guest amenities to improve the community experience.
