For the City of Eugene, Digital Public Engagement Closes the Circle of Communications and Expands Reach

The City of Eugene wanted to expand beyond traditional outreach methods like open houses, surveys, and postcards because those tactics weren’t reaching many busy residents or people hesitant to speak up in person. With Granicus’ EngagementHQ platform, the city created a centralized online space to share projects and gather feedback on residents’ own time.

Granicus helped the City of Eugene use surveys, comments, ideas, and interactive maps to collect richer community input and better demographic data. The results included 7,818 registered users and 1,092 ideas submitted for a street-naming contest, helping the city reach more diverse voices, improve decision-making, and build greater trust in local government.
