The Y Whittlesea, a large community organisation with more than 450 staff serving over two million participants annually, faced major disruption during the COVID-19 pandemic when physical office handsets and site-based operations became impractical. Needing softphones and remote access to data, they worked with IT consultant Leisure IT and adopted GoTo’s Phone, Meeting and Messaging solution (GoTo Connect) from vendor GoTo.

GoTo implemented a phased cloud-telephony migration sector by sector, replacing physical handsets with a mobile app and centralized admin; The Y Whittlesea reports that admins learned the system in a couple of weeks and staff training took about one week. The GoTo solution increased flexibility for remote and hybrid work, boosted productivity, reduced reliance on desk phones, and earned positive user feedback and consistent support from GoTo.
