Mastering The Crisis with GoTo Meeting

Berufsbildungswerk Bezirk Mittelfranken, a vocational training centre for people with disabilities in the Mittelfranken region, faced sudden closure during the COVID-19 crisis while still contractually required to deliver Federal Employment Agency training. Because Microsoft Teams could not meet the centre’s strict data-protection and security requirements, the Region’s IT team evaluated alternatives and selected GoTo, deploying the GoToMeeting online meeting tool to maintain contact with participants and reorganise work and training processes.

GoTo implemented GoToMeeting for internal meetings, staff training and participant communication, enabling the centre to run almost eight hours of conferencing a day, scale licences from an initial 4 to 50, and complete about 90% of supervision audits remotely. The solution kept programs running for roughly 220 employees and 310 participants, supported hygiene and protection plans, and led the organisation to adopt GoToWebinar for larger events — preserving continuity and advancing their digitalisation efforts.
