Saint Mary's College of California, a historic liberal arts college, was forced by COVID-19 stay-at-home orders to shift overnight to fully remote operations and lost access to desk phones, fax machines and in-person student services. Although the college had previously deployed GoTo Connect, staff were still relying on familiar hardware and needed a secure, scalable communications solution that would work for a distributed workforce.

Using GoTo Connect (from GoTo), the IT team quickly built virtual call centers with call routing, greetings, caller ID and virtual fax gateways so staff and students could handle inquiries, protect personal numbers and send/receive sensitive faxes remotely. GoTo’s solution handled roughly 1,200 affected students, reduced costs compared with the previous PBX, accelerated staff adoption of advanced features, and left Saint Mary's College of California better prepared for future disruptions.
